Course update

With continued closure the greenkeepers have been presented with a fantastic opportunity to core the greens, surrounds and tee boxes which will firm up all surfaces. 120-150 tonne of sand has then been applied right before the snow hit. What a difference a week makes.

Hatton outshines McIlroy

Rory McIlroy opened the new European Tour season in an all-too-familiar fashion last weekend. The Northern Irishman was part of a fascinating tug-of-war battle with Tyrrell Hatton at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, only to be completely outplayed by Hatton during the final 18 holes.

Just about every player’s bag was brimming with new, exciting-looking equipment; both Hatton and McIlroy heading into battle with brand-new drivers and fairway woods from their respective brands.
