Home hopes – who are you backing? The wet conditions faced at the Evian Championship last week could well be the perfect preparation for the world's best as they head to Woburn for the Women's British Open, which begins on Thursday. Last year saw home-grown hero Georgia Hall fire a sublime final round five-under-par to overhaul Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum and claim her first Major championship. But will there be a repeat this year to make it back-to-back British women on the top step in their home Major? Hall will no doubt be one of the favourites and along with the likes of Charley Hull, Bronte Law and Meghan Maclaren (to name but a few) who are all flying the flag for the British Isles, there is plenty of reason to get excited ahead of the fifth and final women’s Major of the year. |
